Problem: Moving my lexmark p4350 from my older thinkpad w/XP-Pro (where it worked fine for years) to my new thinkpad w/XPPor results in the printer being 'lost' when I restart. The software apparently stays, but the system does not recognize the hardware. I have reloaded the installation multiple times, and have often deleted the old software first. I have temporarily halted my virus protection for installation as suggested, When I reload the software, it then works until the next restart. Any comment or solutions?????????
Problem: cant understand, allthough i re-install my XP image when i go to print a file it prints only half of it then spits the paper out? i must have wasted a realm of paper, does anyone have this problem or knows what to do to solve it? regards jimi
If you are having problems with an older (> 18 months) printer, you may want to check the prices of newer printers (use Google on the right) before you think about paying for repairs.
Make sure you check the price of ink before you buy a printer - often when a printer is very cheap, the price of ink is high and you may end up paying more in the long run. Choose a printer from the left-hand menu ("Find a Printer") and the "Printer Profile" (above) will show you the ink cartridges / toner it uses - then search for this ink in Google on the right to get an up-to-date idea of how much it costs. This could save you a lot of money in the long-run.
